Jamie xx and Young Turks present the “Good Times Store”, a pop-up turning Wallplay Shop into a physical representation of Jamie xx’s album In Colour.
On the heels of a sold-out show at New York City’s Terminal 5, Jamie xx and Young Turks present the “Good Times Store”, a pop-up turning Wallplay Shop into a physical representation of Jamie xx’s album In Colour.
The shop held a range of exclusive Jamie xx and Young Turks merchandise, including: signed albums, some of Jamie’s best mixes on tape (including his Essential Mixes), and a limited, signed edition of his debut solo album, In Colour.
The Good Times Store has also partnered up with A-1 Record Shop to bring in a unique selection of Jamie’s favorite second-hand records, some of which include selections from Tim Sweeney of Beats In Space, Mike Simonetti of Italians Do It Better, and Ethan Silverman, founder of Terrible Records. Visitors will be able to dig through the crates, listen to them on the in-house sound system and purchase their favorites, all proceeds going back to A1 Records.
The first-ever Good Times Store is a nod to Jamie’s album track “I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times)” featuring rapper Young Thug and Jamaican dancehall artist, Popcaan. Special programming hosted by Jamie occured throughout the entire week.
Jamie xx’s debut album In Colour, released in June, is a bold, celebratory and emotional record that features collaborations with The xx band mates Romy Madley Croft and Oliver Sim. Other features include Young Thug, Popcaan and Four Tet.
