Saturdays NYC celebrated Saturdays Magazine Issue #004 with a pop up shop featuring magazine and a curated selection of items.
Saturdays NYC announced the release of Saturdays Magazine Issue #004 on April 10th, 2015. To commemorate the occasion, Saturdays hosted a pop-up shop at Wallplay’s Shop at 312 Bowery, stocking the magazine as well as a curated selection of Saturdays items.
The 312 perfectly bound pages included eight image portfolios from visionaries Jeff Johnson, Adrian Gaut, Rin Tanaka, Daniel Arnold, Pieces of The City, Grant Ellis, Lucien Smith and Joan Gannij.
The issue also featured interviews with notable influencers including Duane Michals, Jonny Johansson, Francis Ford Coppola, JJJound, Eastern Surf Magazine, Olaf Bruening, Hitoshi Tsujimoto, Frank Prisinzano, Lucy Walker Balaram Stack, Chas Smith, Truck Furniture, Salaman Agah, Made Kasim and Damon Way.
Editor-In-Chief Colin Tunstall stated, “This magazine is something we are proud to publish every year, the chance to work with people we either know or admire is the best part of the end result. Many of the conversations in this issue discuss how technology has changed the nature of our experiences – the things we gain and miss in this new digital mode of existence. Working on this issue we realized that while we constantly need to have our eyes on the future and keep moving, advancing and adapting, there are certain things that never go out of style.”
Saturdays Magazine is an annual publication, published by men’s lifestyle brand Saturdays NYC, featuring original works from the realms of art, cinema, design photography and surfing. Printed at Oddi in Iceland, the book contains cover-to-cover editorial, no advertising.
Issue #004 was distributed through all of the Saturdays locations in New York and Japan, as well as through select bookstores and retails shops worldwide.
