Chicago-based hip-hop recording artist Mick Jenkins joins visual artist Hayveyah McGowan in an intimate discussion and album first-listen for fans, select media & tastemakers in Chicago and New York City.
While creating Wave[s], Jenkins approached McGowan to create a visual aid to his album, a reinterpretation of each song through 10 paintings, each corresponding with a track off the album. In two sessions this August, the two will join to break down the meaning of each, premiering the album’s first singles: “Get Up Get Down” and “Your Love”.
