“Universal Positivity” is derived from the desire to promote and cultivate such a thing as well as the virtual and material worlds that Hatsune Miku inhabits.
Hatsune Miku, the international pop-star sensation, whose holographic image and style is an original creation of Japan-based Crypton Future Media, and now thousands of talented artists from all over the world. Wallplay announced the New York portion of the stateside Hatsune Miku Expo takeover, called “Universal Positivity”. During the exhibition, which was free and open to the public, there was projected videos and performances by Miku and her band, as well as art, toys, fashion, and other merchandise for sale and on display, created with love and adoration by her large fanbase. And on Oct. 13, both longtime fans and new ones will have the opportunity to get an autograph from Simone Legno, designer and founder of tokidoki, the Los Angeles-based fashion label. Legno collaborated with Miku to produce super-kawaii designs of exclusive, limited-edition tote bags bearing her likeness, which will be on sale. More information about the entire New York Expo’s events, including a performance at the Hammerstein Ballroom can be found here.
Ultimately, the theme of “Universal Positivity” is derived from the desire to promote and cultivate such a thing as well as the virtual and material worlds that Hatsune Miku inhabits. It is a positive movement without tangible borders, engaging and encouraging people around the world to express and share their creativity.
